Na⁺ deficit (mmol) = (135 − current Na⁺) × 0.6 × weight (kg)
3% NaCl volume (ml) = deficit ÷ 513 × 1000
0.9% NaCl volume (ml) = deficit ÷ 154 × 1000
Emergency bolus: 2 ml/kg of 3% NaCl (max 100 ml) over 10–15 min.
Correction limit: ≤ 12 mmol/L rise in 24 hours.
